Mobile in style — a new design for Lufthansa mobile services



Lufthansa passengers should be able to enjoy the best possible services at any time and in any location. That is why we are now making the Lufthansa smartphone apps and the mobile portal available to them in a fresh, new design and with enhanced functions.


Here they will now find especially attractive flight offers even more quickly and have direct access to the most frequently used services, such as check-in and flight status, to their mobile boarding pass or to personal entry data. The new page structure and the clear design provide a link to the portal’s ‘big sister’ website on the stationary Internet. Faster load times and more images create an enjoyable and contemporary user experience.


In addition, in future only one login will be required overall for entering and accessing personal data, when booking flights, for example or when requesting a Miles & More account balance. With the user’s agreement, the login data will be saved in encrypted form on the device. So on their next visit to the website, the user will have direct access to personal services — without the trouble of keying in passwords again.
Always up-to-date en route — with push notifications
The departure gate has changed? Passengers who have subscribed in the Lufthansa app to status requests for a flight, after check-in for example, will automatically see a message displayed in the app when something changes in respect of their flight. Even users who are not travelling can subscribe to flight messages and therefore be informed about status changes by the app — an information service that is highly recommended, especially for anyone collecting family, friends or colleagues from the airport.
The user can also activate and deactivate push messages for current offers in the app settings.
Practical and convenient: the extended data storage function

When we travel we want things to be simple above all else. No problem: the new Lufthansa travel document file saves time and helps with organisation. Consequently, passengers will in future have a sort of personal storage system in the app in which they can save travel documents and residence permits such as a Green Card. This stored information is accessed during the mobile check-in process so that users save themselves the trouble of having to type in lots of data. Moreover, the app lets the user know when travel documents are due to expire — so that they can sort out a replacement or renewal in good time.
