Hotel
Analyst Distribution & Technology, the information service for
the hotel distribution and technology community, has announced
The Hotel Distribution Event (HDE) to be held in London on September
23rd, 2013.
This
inaugural event is the first conference that focuses on the strategy
rather than the tactics of hotel distribution. The debates and
presentations will focus on what should be done rather than the
technical details of how it is done.
"We
want to host a conference organised for hoteliers that discusses the
issues they face rather than an event which acts as a marketing
opportunity for technology vendors. Hotel Analyst is known for its
strong point of view that challenges consensus and we want to bring
that to the conference environment," said Andrew Sangster,
Editorial Director of the Hotel Analyst group of titles.
The
event is being held the day before Hotel Investment Conference Europe
(Hot.E) in the same venue, the InterContinental London Park Lane. The
two-day Hot.E
conference, on September 24th and 25th, is
focused on debt, equity and hotel investment opportunities in Europe.
Hot.E is produced by Burba Hotel Network. For more information on
Hot.E visit www.Burba.com.
"The
finance and development focus of Hot.E is a natural counter weight to
the sales and marketing strategy we will discuss at HDE. We are
delighted to be co-operating with such a key industry event,"
said Sangster.
"We
are excited to associate with HDE which complements Hot.E. Together
the joint events cover the gamut of critical issues for senior hotel
executives," said Jim Burba, President of Burba Hotel Network
and founder of Hot.E.
The
target audience for HDE is senior executives involved in sales,
marketing and technology within hotel brand, operating and owning
companies. In addition, other senior hotel executives at the CEO, COO
and CFO level who have ultimate responsibility for these functions
are expected to attend.
Among
the issues the programme anticipates addressing are:
• How
to work with online travel agents
• Using
reviews to benefit hotels
• Does
social media matter?
• What's
happening in search, merchandising and conversion?
• Do
loyalty programmes deliver and what are the alternatives?
• Branding
versus unbranded
• Understanding
what the CRS of a brand does
• Adapting
to different markets with multi lingual and localisation
• Payment
issues - card payment solutions
