In
a bold step for 2013, leading UK meetings and events industry
tradeshow, International Confex, has turned to innovative engagement
and leadership development experts The Mark of a Leader to up the
experience levels for both visitors and exhibitors.
As
part of The Mark of a Leader’s involvement with the show, the team
will be running daily workshops specifically for exhibitors. The
purpose of these sessions is two fold: to get exhibitors motivated
and focused for the day ahead; and to give them new ways to engage
prospects at a deeper and more emotional level.
The
experiential workshops, which have been developed jointly by Confex
and The Mark of a Leader, will take place every morning from 9am -
9:45am in the Keynote & Agency Theatre. Under the overarching
theme of creating unforgettable experiences for your people and
customers, each day will focus on a different idea: what you do with
what you've got; seeing the world differently; and working together.
The
Mark of a Leader team will also be running daily keynotes at the show
for delegates, based around their unique approach to motivation and
engagement through live story telling. Each session will have a
different theme – Inspirational stories of great leadership; Five
Level Leadership; and Inspirational stories of how to thrive on
change – and will focus on the need to engage delegates and
customers on an emotional level as well as giving attendees practical
tips to take away.
Commenting
of The Mark of a Leader’s role at this year’s Confex, the UK’s
MD and Master Storyteller, Tom Griffin, said: “We are excited to be
so heavily involved at Confex this year, with the exhibitor workshops
and keynotes. I believe this is the first time a show of this nature
in the UK has employed exhibitor focused sessions like this and we
really look forward to helping to raise engagement levels across the
show floor.
“We
understand that Confex is passionate about the potency of live
experience, and our sessions will equip exhibitors and attendees with
insights that take ‘experiential’ beyond the boundaries of
designing highly interactive (and expensive) exhibition stands, to a
whole new level of truly engaging experiences. In short, really
connecting with them on an emotional level. Stories are a fabulous
vehicle through which to do this, and that will be the focus of our
activity at the show.”
James
Samuel, Event Director at Confex, added: "We are excited about
having The Mark of a Leader playing such an active role at
International Confex this year. The way they use stories and
storytelling to create a much deeper and more personal level of
experience fits perfectly with our focus on creating a truly
experiential environment for both visitors and exhibitors. We are
also excited that they have agreed to run motivational workshops for
all exhibitors and their staff every morning of the show, to help
make sure that everyone on the stand is fired up and ready for action
when the doors open at 10 am. "
The
Mark of a Leader has been growing and developing in North America for
the past eight years, but is brand new in the UK and Europe. As a
concept it has been tried and tested with blue-chip clients
(including IBM, GSK, Microsoft, Starbucks and Royal Sun Alliance) and
has proved amazingly successful time and time again.
