The following is a listener review of Sheraton, Nassau from a recent sailing aboard Carnival Fascination out of Jacksonville, Florida.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been to Nassau more times than I can count. There’s only so many times you can go to the Atlantis, so during my recent trip I chose to take advantage of a Sheraton Nassau day pass at the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort and Casino. The cab ride from the port takes about 15 minutes and costs $10.00.

For $99, the day pass includes a standard room for two from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., access to the beach, three swimming pools, non-motorized water sports, towels and on-site restaurants and lounges.  Note: A $35 charge does apply for additional room guests.

I chose the standard day pass which is available for $25.00 per person which includes access to the beach, pools, restaurants, towels, and non-motorized water sports, but does not include a day room. Both day passes include the use of kayaks, snorkeling equipment, water bikes and rafts.

Jet skis were available to rent right on the beach and I took advantage of renting one for one hour. The cost was $125.

If you’ve been to Nassau before and looking for an inexpensive alternative to day passes at the Atlantis, the Nassau Sheraton is the ticket. I highly recommend you call ahead a make a reservation for which ever option you choose.

The staff at the Nassau Sheraton was friendly, professional, and eager to please. You can even take advantage of the free wi-fi while at the property, always a plus after walking off the ship.

Taking advantage of a day pass is just plain great for families. It gives the adults a chance to relax, take a shower and just chill while the kids play at the pool and take advantage of the beach and all the free activities. Just keep in mind you will have to budget for food, drinks, and if the kids want to ride the jet skis!

The next time I go to Nassau, I will be taking advantage of the day pass at the Nassau Sheraton hotel again.
