Jetstar to start flights to Australia's Red Centre from

Jetstar  announced it would introduce four flights a week from Sydney to Ayers Rock (Uluru)^ providing low fares travel to one of Australia’s most popular tourism destinations.
To mark the start of services to the Red Centre, Jetstar will be offering special sale fares of $119* one way from Sydney to Ayers Rock (Uluru).
Jetstar Australia & New Zealand chief executive officer David Hall said the start of low fares to the region would help drive further tourism growth.
Jetstar has a proven record of generating new market demand through our low fares offering and we are excited to be launching our newest destination,” Mr Hall said.
Low fares will help grow the market making the region more accessible to domestic and international visitors. Lower airfares means customers have more disposable income when they arrive.
Visitors will be able to view the majestic landscape of Uluru, explore the surrounding desert or even take in a four course meal under the stars.
From June 4, we will offer four flights a week from Sydney to Ayers Rock (Uluru) and provide more than 1400 seats every week on the route.
Ayers Rock (Uluru) is now Jetstar’s 19th domestic destination and we expect it to be very popular as a domestic and international leisure destination.”
Tourism NT chief executive officer Tony Mayell said the announcement was great news for Uluru and Central Australia.
We know that we are on most people’s bucket list and Jetstar has proven itself as an airline that can ignite the holiday market and get people to places that they may have previously believed were too expensive or difficult to get to,” Mr Mayell said.
We welcome Jetstar to Central Australia and look forward to working with it and Voyages to introduce more holiday makers to this special part of Australia.”
Airbus A320 aircraft will operate between Ayers Rock (Uluru) and Sydney and Jetstar’s introduction on the route will replace Qantas’ existing services with a higher capacity aircraft.
Sales fares start at $119* and will be available from 2pm on Monday, 11 February until 11.59pm on Tuesday 12 February and are valid for travel between Tuesday 4 June and Tuesday 25 June 2013 and Tuesday 17 July to Tuesday 17 September.
