The 29th Cruise Shipping Miami is Scheduled for March


Cruise Shipping Miami, the international conference and exhibition serving the cruise industry that annually draws more than 10,000 attendees and over 1,000 exhibiting companies from over 121 countries to Miami Beach, Fla., is scheduled to run March 11-14, 2013.
Part of UBM plc's growing Cruise Shipping Portfolio, Cruise Shipping Miami features a three-day trade show at the Miami Beach Convention Center that runs Tuesday through Thursday, and a four-day conference that offers sessions Monday through Thursday.
"The 2013 conference lineup has been completely revamped, with more in-depth sessions focused along specific trend-related tracks with a variety of new speakers," said Daniel Read, director of UBM’s Cruise Shipping Portfolio. "In addition, we're going to mount some Green Cruising Challenges and create new opportunities to bring together buyers and suppliers."
The current conference lineup includes four tracks or "streams":
Shipbuilding, Operations and Technology will cover the outlook for newbuilds as well as ship refurbishment and repair. Other topics likely to be included in this track are reducing fuel consumption, concepts for greener ships and the future of cruise ship design.
Destinations and Ports examines topics like developments in the Caribbean and Mexico, new and expanding markets, the interface between Cruise Lines and seaports, and trends in terminal development and shore excursions.
Market Segments is expected to include upscale and expedition products, national and regional cruise brands, sustainable cruise tourism and the growing river cruise segment.
Product Development looks at with how the cruise product is being marketed, the importance of social media, sources of on-board revenue, the latest developments in on-board attractions and entertainment, and trends in dining and hospitality.
In addition to national pavilions, the massive trade show, which covers all four halls of the convention center, also features business sectors highlighting information technology, entertainment technology, food and beverage, ship design and refurbishment, ship services and hotel operations, ship equipment and destinations.
