Azerbaijan
is to draft a legal framework to develop spa tourism.
At
the 1st Azerbaijan-Turkey International Congress on health and
thermal tourism Ruslan Guliyev, congress organizer and CEO of
Millennium Tourism & Congress DMC, has said that the new tourism
bill envisages development of health tourism in Azerbaijan.
"The
new law on tourism, which is still at the stage of coordination, also
stipulates development of health tourism, given the great potential
in this direction," Guliyev said.
According
to Guliyev, the current law passed in 1998 when such sphere was also
actual contains a point on the issue of development of spa tourism.
"The
issue of health tourism development is also envisaged in the State
Tourism Development Program 2009-14. A point on the "route of
longevity" to the
southern regions
of the country in the Program is an example of the attention to this
field,” Guliyev said.
