Jointly hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT), and Busan Metropolitan City, WSCE celebrates its 10th anniversary this year as Asia’s largest smart city exhibition. The event brings together global industry leaders for exhibitions and conferences showcasing the latest breakthroughs in AI solutions, transportation, mobility, and infrastructure.
Korean Air’s exhibit will introduce a next-generation aviation framework structured around three key pillars: advanced automated manufacturing, AI-powered aircraft MRO, and integrated Urban Air Mobility (UAM) traffic management.
Future Aviation AX (AI Transformation) Zone
In the Future Aviation AX (AI Transformation) Zone, the company will showcase manufacturing innovations fundamental to smart city development. Video demonstrations will highlight an advanced multipurpose production line that utilizes AI for process and logistics automation in the mass production of aircraft components and airframes. This zone presents a blueprint for smart factories and outlines Korean Air’s vision for next-generation aerospace production innovations. The exhibit also features automated commercial aircraft manufacturing technology and Stealth Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), demonstrating the company’s capability to produce advanced aerial platforms.
AI Aviation MRO Zone
The AI Aviation MRO Zone highlights Digital MRO solutions applied to commercial aviation. Korean Air will demonstrate an automated maintenance system where collaborative inspection drones and ground rovers conduct high-precision exterior scans of aircraft to detect defects and report them in real time. The system is expected to garner attention as a scalable model for the core autonomous, intelligent maintenance of large mobility assets in future smart cities, with plans underway to incorporate Boeing's maintenance manuals.
ACROSS Zone
In the ACROSS Zone, Korean Air will introduce ACROSS (Air Control and Routing Orchestrated Skyway System), its proprietary mobility operations and traffic management solution. Designed to manage complex three-dimensional urban airspace, ACROSS leverages AI-driven Low-Altitude smart Air Traffic Management systems to ensure safe and efficient flight operations for urban air mobility aircraft.
“A true smart city is realized when ground infrastructure seamlessly connects with advanced aviation manufacturing, control and MRO capabilities,” said a Korean Air representative. “Through our vision for a future aerospace cluster, Korean Air will continue to lead automated production and technology innovation in the global aerospace industry.”
