The Montréal route operates between Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Guatemala City’s La Aurora International Airport (GUA), with the extension moving the service beyond its original timeframe as a winter seasonal offering. The Toronto route, connecting Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) with La Aurora International Airport, has similarly moved from seasonal to year-round operation. Together, the moves reflect sustained demand from European and Canadian customers for access to Guatemala.

These year-round services also give Canadian travellers greater access to Guatemala, opening up significant potential to grow tourism from Canada and welcome more visitors to discover the country’s diverse landscapes and rich heritage throughout the year. Beyond Guatemala City, visitors can explore historic cities such as Antigua, discover ancient Maya sites including Tikal, and experience a landscape that ranges from volcanic highlands and tranquil lakes to tropical forests and Pacific coastline.
New tourism products are also helping visitors explore lesser-known parts of the country and ensuring the benefits of tourism reach communities beyond Guatemala’s established destinations. This includes El Camino del Tiempo in Quiché, a new network of hiking trails connecting Maya sacred sites, indigenous communities and 16th-century colonial churches, which is currently under development and set to showcase the culture and spirituality of several communities, offering the opportunity for direct economic development to these lesser travelled areas of the country.
Both routes are operated by aircraft offering Air Canada’s Signature Class, Premium Economy and Economy cabins. Signature Class features lie-flat seats, while Economy passengers receive complimentary beer, wine and premium Canadian snacks, along with complimentary inflight entertainment.
