NEW YORK, NEW YORK – The Malta Tourism Authority has completed its North America Luxury and MICE Roadshow, presenting the destination across New York, Chicago and Toronto to industry professionals from the luxury leisure and business tourism segments.
The multi-city initiative aimed to strengthen Malta’s positioning within the global luxury and meetings market, bringing together travel advisors, MICE professionals and private sector partners.
Michelle Buttigieg, North America Representative of the Malta Tourism Authority, stated: “With the launch of Delta’s nonstop flight from JFK to Malta on June 7, this roadshow comes at a key moment to elevate Malta’s visibility in North America. Through direct engagement with the luxury travel advisors and MICE professionals, we are strengthening partnerships that will be able to take advantage of this new non-stop service to the Maltese Islands that extends through October 23.”
The events highlighted Malta’s tourism offering, including its historical heritage, Mediterranean setting and growing portfolio of hospitality infrastructure suited to meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions.

The roadshow also featured culinary presentations showcasing Maltese gastronomy, including menus prepared by Executive Chef Giovann Attard and cocktail demonstrations by Eddie Bonello and Liam Ashton of Molecular Fusion.
The initiative included participation from private sector partners such as Westin Dragonara Resort, Malta Marriott Resort & Spa, SIT Malta, ME Malta by Meliá, The Phoenicia Malta, Rosselli – AX Privilege, Xara Collection, Exclusively Malta and Citrus.
Malta’s positioning in the global tourism and MICE landscape is further supported by its selection as host destination for the 2026 World Travel & Tourism Council Global Summit in Valletta.
The Malta Tourism Authority continues to focus on strengthening trade relationships and enhancing accessibility, aiming to support further growth from the North American market.
