Krakow is an important destination on our route network – it is both a major business hub and a popular tourist location. The city’s dynamic growth translates into an increasing demand for direct flight connections, which promote business opportunities and international cooperation. The launch of flights to Rome, Barcelona and Madrid marks LOT’s expansion of its existing connecting flight services to these destinations and represents a further step in strengthening our presence in the region.
Robert Ludera, Chief Commercial Officer, LOT Polish Airlines
The first flights on all three routes took off on 30 March 2026, opening up new travel opportunities from Malopolska to key European cities, for both leisure and business.
We are delighted to see the rapid growth of our flagship carrier, LOT Polish Airlines, at the Krakow Airport, which translates into impressive 44% growth. This is not only the result of expanding range of sunny destinations – such as Madrid, Barcelona and Rome – but also to the continuous development of domestic flights. As a result, in addition to flights to Warsaw and Olsztyn–Mazury Airport, our offer has been expanded with seasonal flights to Gdańsk, which are particularly popular with families. LOT also continues to develop its network of European and long-haul routes, offering flights to destinations including Paris, Istanbul, New York and Chicago, with the number of flights increasing to five per week during the Summer 2026 season. I firmly believe that the significant strengthening of LOT’s presence at Krakow Airport is good news both for passengers and for the entire region, which is gaining ever-better transport links and new growth opportunities.

During the 2026 summer season, LOT Polish Airlines will offer flights from the capital of Malopolska to as many as 11 destinations, expanding its operations with the introduction of an additional Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The expansion of the flight network and the increased number of flights significantly strengthen the carrier’s offering in the region.
The expansion of LOT’s route network improves transport links to the region, enhances the travel experience and opens up new business opportunities. At the same time, it strengthens Krakow Airport’s position as one of the key airports in Central and Eastern Europe.
LOT Polish Airlines focuses on travel comfort and convenience. A carry-on bag weighing up to 8 kg is included in the ticket price, allowing travelers to avoid additional fees and enjoy a seamless travel experience.
Comfortable seating and professional service ensure that the flight becomes part of an enjoyable experience, rather than just a means of transport. This comfort is complemented by the new cabin standard on Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, featuring modern, ergonomic interiors designed in the ‘Pure Polish’ style. A subtle colour gradient, inspired by the sunset over the Tatra Mountains, emphasises the Polish character of the journey.
Tickets for flights from Krakow to Rome, Barcelona and Madrid are available through all sales channels, including the official LOT website (lot.com), the LOT Contact Center, and LOT Travel offices.
