Guests arrive at Tropic Ocean Airways’
private lobby in Fort Lauderdale just 30 minutes before departure, take
off in the morning, land on the water at North Bimini Seaplane
Base by 9:00 a.m., spend eight hours on the island, and return home to
South Florida by early.
The goal of the new day-trip program is simple: to show people just how close –
and how easy – the Bahamas really are.
“You don’t need a full week off or a complicated travel plan to experience the
Bahamas,” said Jason
Schmidt, CEO at Tropic Ocean Airways. “You
can wake up in South Florida, be on a beach in Bimini 25 minutes later, explore
the island, and still be home for dinner. We’re taking something people assume
requires a lot of time, planning, and money – and making it easy, spontaneous,
and accessible.”
“This partnership with Tropic Ocean Airways represents
more than just a new flight path; it’s a total reimagining of how accessible
our islands can be,” said
the Honorable Chester Cooper, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister
of Tourism, Investments & Aviation. “By providing the opportunity to get
from South Florida to The Bahamas in a mere 25 minutes, we are removing the
traditional barriers to international travel. We’re providing a seamless,
premium gateway that allows our guests to prioritize their time while still
experiencing the full depth of Bahamian hospitality.”
