Experience Jacques Restaurant Again Aboard Oceania Allura With Chef Pépin

 Oceania Cruises has reintroduced its signature French dining experience, Jacques, on its newest ship, the Oceania Allura. Chef Jacques Pépin, the line’s first-ever executive culinary director, oversaw the venue opening on the ship, which also features Jacques, on October 6 in Boston, Massachusetts. A welcome audience, including several culinary world notables, attended the launch.

Chef Pépin first launched Jacques 14 years ago on Oceania Marina and Oceania Riviera and expressed his enthusiasm for seeing the restaurant beloved by so many on Oceania Allura and her sister ship, Oceania Vista. He reiterated that the new Jacques in his restaurant collection is an important milestone for the line and for him personally.

Jacques is one of the Spire’s French restaurants, Oceania Cruises’ signature restaurants. Jacques is also a pivotal piece of the culinary history of the Cruises. Chef Pepin tells us that a return to Jacques to the Oceania Allura is joyful and humbling to him. This return is telling us the constellation of integrity for the culinary creations for the cruises. This constellation focuses on creativity and integrity. This culinary creation is telling us about all the vintages and ships.

Oceania Cruises’ current executive culinary director, Chef Eric Barale, is the one who articulated the fond remembrance of Jacques’ evolution, adaptation, and maintaining the culinary traditions that tell of value. Reflecting this, Chef Eric Barale, who is also the culinary director along with Chef Alexis Quaretti, appreciates the high standards set by Chef Pepin, and that is excellence and guidance that all the chefs must follow on the entire fleet.


New Menu and Experiences in Dininge

One of the highlights of Jacques onboard the Oceania Allura is its differentiated and combined menu of classic and modern French cuisines. Some of the new and innovative items include the deviled eggs topped with allison trout rillette and sturgeon caviar. Customers looking for an experience can have the signature dishes prepared at their tables, including the classic beef tartare and the sea bass en croute, a dish meant for two.

Guests can have expertly prepared duck in a Grand Marnier orange sauce and veal medallions in morel sauce for the main course. Jacques finishes the meal with a variety of classic French desserts, including Crêpes Suzette and profiteroles, to create a memorable dining experience.

A Celebration in Honor of Chef Pépin

Boson’s signature event was not just an opening ceremony. It included remarks by Chef Pépin as well. Guests included close friends and family. The ceremony included his daughter, granddaughter, and son-in-law, fittingly underlining the importance of the day for both Chef Pépin personally and professionally.

Besides Chef Pépin’s remarks, there was the included participation in the ceremony as he cut the ribbon to the opening of the new Jacques aboard Oceania Allura.
