IGLTA celebrates the joys of international travel year-round but proudly joins UN Tourism on 27 September for World Tourism Day, commemorating the adoption of the organization’s founding statutes in 1975. This meaningful day highlights the social, cultural, political, and economic benefits of global travel. IGLTA adds an LGBTQ+ perspective, emphasizing how travel fosters unity by transcending barriers of sexual orientation, gender identity, and cultural differences. It’s a day to celebrate the power of tourism to connect people and create a more inclusive world for everyone.
