There’s a reason why “knowledge is power” is a familiar phrase used by many. But knowledge in the business travel industry isn’t just power—it can drive progress, profitability and professional development.
GBTA has a long track record and deep commitment to delivering knowledge to our member community and industry in the form of our ongoing insights. Research, after all, is our currency at GBTA—but it’s also your competitive and professional edge. And that’s exactly the focus of our most recent set of insights, delivered right before our annual convention.
Last week, we launched two new reports quantifying the value of business travel in the U.S. and the UK as it compares to sales delivery. These reports put real data behind what we all know: business travel is not just a budget line item — it’s a growth driver. The reports also show that companies and sectors are underinvesting in T&E, thereby leaving significant dollars and pounds of lost sales revenue on the table. We hope these insights help you show your organization how business travel can help power the bottom-line.
Tomorrow, we release our next GBTA poll results in follow-up to the April poll we conducted to gauge industry impact from U.S. government actions, such as tariffs, entry restrictions and cross-border advisories. The July poll explores outlook on volume, spending, revenue and optimism as well as meetings, events and employee willingness to travel. From 950 global respondents, we see that demand remains resilient but economic and policy uncertainty continue to have ripple effects for business travel.
And during the GBTA Convention next week, we’ll unveil the 17th edition of our GBTA Global Business Travel Index Outlook report, our much anticipated five-year annual forecast. The 2025 GBTA BTI™ provides top-level insights for business travel spending, growth and employee traveler behaviors using data and analysis from 72 countries, 44 industries and 7,300+ business travelers worldwide.
We thank our research partners and the global professionals who contribute to our research —your input is essential to powering our insights. (Reach out if you’re interested in partnering with GBTA on research and thought leadership.)
And in just days, thousands of you will gather in Denver to expand your knowledge and connections at the GBTA Convention, July 21–23. From keynotes to panels and peer learning, this is your chance to level up. Whether you’re mastering the basics or exploring new ground, this is the place to expand your knowledge. We look forward to seeing so many of you in Denver and look forward to sharing all the interesting and actionable insights to help shape the future of business travel together.
