The Gemini embarked from Piraeus last week, marking the start of Miray Cruises’ 2025 season in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Cruising through Greece and Turkey, this 960-guest ship is now offering a series of short, port-heavy cruises in the region.
For its first sailing of the season, the Gemini visited four destinations on an island-hopping journey. The three-night cruise departs early from Piraeus, ensuring the ship arrives in Mykonos the same day. Guests can explore the island’s nightlife during a three-hour stop, followed by a late-night departure to Syros.
The itinerary includes a full-day stop in Syros before moving on to a final day split between Kusadasi and Patmos.
Additional ports of call this year include Rhodes, Cesme, and Santorini. However, calls to Santorini were recently canceled due to seismic activity on the island, with Syros replacing it for all March sailings. Santorini visits are expected to resume in April.
The Gemini’s summer season in the Eastern Mediterranean will run until early October.
Originally built for Crown Cruise Line, the Gemini sailed with several cruise companies before joining Miray’s fleet in 2020, including Cunard Line, Star Cruises, and Vision Cruceros. The 20,000-ton vessel also operated summer programs for Celestyal Cruises in 2016 and 2017 as the Celestyal Nefeli.
Throughout its 30-year career, the Gemini served as a floating hotel during the 2012 London Olympics and the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
