Ibis opens its seventh hotel in Tbilisi’s Ortachala, Georgia, celebrating 50 years of modern, accessible hospitality and expanding its global presence.
ibis has announced the debut of ibis Tbilisi City, marking the brand’s seventh property in Georgia’s capital. Situated in the dynamic Ortachala district, known for its local attractions and government offices, this newly constructed hotel offers convenient access to the historic old town, shopping centers, and major transport hubs, making it a perfect choice for both business and leisure travelers.
Globally recognized for its modern style, welcoming atmosphere, and outstanding service, ibis celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Since its inception in 1974, when it became the first hotel brand in Europe to provide high-quality, comfortable stays at an affordable rate, ibis has set the standard for economy hospitality. Today, the ibis brand family, comprising ibis, ibis Styles, and ibis budget, leads the global economy hotel sector with over 2,600 properties and close to 300,000 rooms worldwide.
ibis Tbilisi City expands Accor’s footprint in Georgia, bringing the total number of properties in the country to 12. This latest addition is developed and operated by Archi Hospitality, a division of Archi Holding. Archi’s portfolio includes over 50 completed residential projects and 26 ongoing developments across Tbilisi and Georgia’s coastal and mountainous areas, as well as various branded hotels and aparthotels. The ibis Tbilisi City hotel represents the first collaboration between Accor and Archi.
The hotel features 156 contemporary rooms in configurations such as premium, superior, double, twin, and accessible options. The design adheres to the brand’s modular Agora concept, characterized by harmonious materials and colors that seamlessly transition from the exterior to the interior. Each room is furnished with the innovative Sweet Bed by ibis, work-friendly spaces with high-speed internet, and flat-screen LCD TVs offering a diverse range of channels.
Guests and locals alike can enjoy the MARILI Bar & Restaurant, a lively venue where Georgian culture meets the rhythm of music. The menu presents a fusion of classic and modern dishes, complemented by an extensive selection of craft beers and global wines.
The property also includes a 50-square-meter gym outfitted with Technogym cardio and strength equipment. For events and meetings, the hotel provides four versatile meeting rooms, accommodating up to 100 attendees. Located just 20 minutes from Tbilisi International Airport, the hotel offers airport transfer services and municipal parking.
