The Valley, Anguilla, November 22nd, 2024: The Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB) has reaffirmed its commitment to repositioning Anguilla within the UK market through a series of strategic marketing initiatives. Represented by Deputy Director of Tourism, Chantelle Richardson, and newly appointed Coordinator of International Markets, Kohn Richardson, ATB engaged in business-to-business initiatives of media and trade educational sessions and presentations from November 4th to 12th, 2024.

Highlights of the visit to the UK included ATB’s presence at the prestigious World Travel Market (WTM), held from November 5th - 7th in London. The Deputy Director and Coordinator of International Markets met with leading media representatives, journalists, content creators, tour operators, and travel advisors to promote Anguilla as a premier destination. They joined delegations from across the Caribbean to engage in high-level discussions with key players in the global travel and tourism industry, via scheduled strategic meetings designed to amplify Anguilla’s visibility, foster partnerships, and position Anguilla as a preferred travel destination.
With over 40,000 participants from 184 countries, WTM offers an unparalleled platform for ATB to showcase its vibrant culture, natural beauty, and unique offerings. Deputy Director Richardson delivered impactful media briefings and presentations, highlighting Anguilla’s latest news, upcoming developments, and commitment to enhancing visitor experiences.
Additionally, Deputy Director Chantelle Richardson represented Anguilla at a special Caribbean Ministerial Roundtable on November 7. This roundtable featured Ministers and Commissioners of Tourism from across the Caribbean and focused on advancing the region’s strategic priorities and fostering collaboration within the global travel market. The event featured a comprehensive presentation by Forward Keys on Caribbean travel trends for 2024, emphasizing growth, connectivity, and sustainable tourism.
The schedule of marketing initiatives in the UK began on November 5 with the ATB Delegation, accompanied by the UK Media Representatives at Hamilton PR, attending the British Guild of Travel Writers Awards Dinner as an event sponsor.
The British Guild of Travel Writers Awards Dinner brought together some 250 ambassadors, ministers of state for tourism, PRs, BGTW members, along with national and international travel editors, journalists and bloggers. The gala and awards provided an invaluable opportunity to strengthen relationships with key UK-based travel writers and media professionals. The ATB sponsored the award for the Travel Blog Post of the Year which was presented by Mrs. Richardson, and awarded to Abi King of Inside the Travel Lab.
Taking place on November 12, a key highlight of the visit was the UK Media and Trade Dinner Presentation, arranged in partnership with Hamilton PR and Ignite Sales & Marketing, and held in “The Apartment” at The Hoxton Southwark. 32 esteemed attendees, including media professionals and trade partners, gathered for an in-depth destination briefing delivered by Deputy Director Richardson.
The key topics discussed at the event included Anguilla’s new tourism investments and developments, the Clayton J Lloyd International Airport masterplan plan, improved airlift and accessibility to the island, new sustainability developments and Anguilla’s diverse product offerings, festivals, cultural experiences and events. The dinner was further enriched by the presence of Dorothea Hodge, the Government of Anguilla UK Representative, who lent her support to Anguilla’s enhanced developments and advancements.
