Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, is pleased to announce the addition of Phuket to its seasonal destinations, making it the second city in Thailand to join its network, following the capital, Bangkok. This expansion aligns with Saudia’s strategic objective to broaden its international flight network and bring the world to Saudi Arabia, leveraging its young fleet and enhancing its global competitive advantage.
Saudia will commence flights to Phuket on December 2, 2024, offering 12 weekly round trips from Riyadh and Jeddah combined. Bookings will be available through Saudia’s website and mobile app. Operational preparations are currently underway at Phuket International Airport to ensure an exceptional service and seamless experience for all guests.
The airline will deploy its state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft on the routes between the Kingdom and Phuket. These Dreamliners are equipped with spacious seating, advanced inflight entertainment systems catering to diverse guest preferences, and other premium onboard services designed to enhance the travel experience.
Saudia, formerly known as Saudi Arabian Airlines, is the flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, based in Jeddah. The airline’s main hubs are the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the latter of which it plans to move out of by 2030. Today Saudia has 142 aircraft, including the latest and most advanced wide-bodied jets presently available: B787-9, B777-268L, B777-300ER, Airbus A320-200, Airbus A321, and Airbus A330-300.
Saudia operates scheduled domestic and international flights to over 100 destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. Charter flights are operated mostly during the Ramadan and the Hajj seasons. It is part of the SkyTeam airline alliance since 2012, making it the first carrier from the Persian Gulf region to join a major airline alliance.
