Singapore Airlines has debuted at London Gatwick with the first flight to Singapore.
The new second London route complements SIA’s four daily flights from London Heathrow.
The carrier also serves the Lion City from Manchester five times a week.
The new London Gatwick flight operates five times a week to Singapore, and offer the fastest connecting service from the UK to Sydney, in 21 hours 40 minutes.
The airline’s main hub at Singapore’s Changi International Airport allows easy transfers to connecting flights to Southeast Asia and Australasia.
Mohamed Rafi Mar, Singapore Airlines GM, UK & Ireland said: “We are pleased to offer more choices to customers, with London Gatwick as our third UK gateway.”
“We have seen a growing demand for travel not just to Singapore, but to Southeast Asia and Australia.”
The 13-hour flight is operated on Airbus A350-900 jets with 253 seats in three classes.
London Gatwick flight SQ309 will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays to Singapore Changi.
