Bonza has entered voluntary administration with a lessor reportedly seizing its aircraft.
Passengers showed up at airports in the Sunshine Coast, Melbourne, and Gold Coast to be told the airline has ceased operations.
The airline issued a statement advising passengers not to go to the airport for booked flights until at least Friday.
It confirmed all aircraft are grounded until at least then.
“The voluntary administrators are currently considering the continued trading of the company’s operations including the continuation of employment of all employees of the company,” it said.
“The discussions regarding ongoing trading are occurring over the forthcoming days.”
It is unclear whether Bonza will take flight again.
According to sources, Bonza’s three aircraft were seized by AIP Capital.
Qantas and Virgin Australia have offered complimentary flights to impacted customers although Bonza operated routes that are not offered by other airlines.
Bonza launched in January 2023.
