ONYX signs new Shama property in Thailand

ONYX Hospitality Group is expanding its Shama serviced apartments brand with the launch of its first Thai location outside Bangkok.

It unveiled plans for Shama Rayong, which will welcome guests from Q1 2026.

The company says Shama Rayong shows the demand for serviced apartments is strong across Thailand.

There are currently six Shama properties in Thailand, as well as in Hong Kong, mainland China and Malaysia.

Rayong is a city on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand and southeast of Bangkok.

It is one of Thailand’s main industrial areas.

Rayong City Center is just a 30-minute drive away from the property.

It will feature over 150 keys including Studio, One-Bedroom and Two-Bedroom apartments, a restaurant, swimming pool, gym and meeting rooms.

It also houses a Shama Social Club.

CEO of ONYX Hospitality Group, Yuthachai Charanachitta said: “This marks a pivotal moment for the Shama brand, in response to the growing demand for serviced apartments, particularly in the business travel segment.”

ONYX Hospitality Group is committed to expanding the Shama brand and now operates 16 Shama locations, with another five properties under construction.

Upcoming openings include Shama Medini – Malaysia and Shama Hub Qiantang Hangzhou – China
