The Board of Gulf Air Group Holding today announced that it had appointed Mr. Jeffrey Goh as its Group CEO.
In welcoming the appointment, Mr. Goh said, “I am extremely honoured to have the confidence of the Board of Gulf Air Group Holding and looking forward to the opportunity of leading the Group and working with the Board and all employees of the Group to deliver some very exciting objectives. Gulf Air has a very rich and long history of over 70 years, and I am privileged to be part of a team that will take the Group to new heights, particularly as we emerge from the Covid crisis.”
Mr. Goh will take up his new role on 1st January 2023. As Gulf Air Group Holding CEO, which comprises of the National Carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain Gulf Air, Bahrain Airport Company, BAC Jet Fuel Company, and Gulf Aviation Academy. The group is also a substantial shareholder in Bahrain Airport Services Company and Bahrain Duty Free Company.
Mr. Goh had indicated earlier in the year that he would be stepping down as Star Alliance CEO when his term expires at the end of this year. He was appointed to the role in 2017, having served in different roles at the global airline alliance for the previous 10 years. Prior to joining Star Alliance, he had worked at the International Air Transport Association and a leading law firm, Beaumont and Son, in London.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, the Chairman, H.E. Zayed R. Alzayani said, “We are very excited about this new chapter in our Aviation History and as Bahrain embarks on taking its aviation experience and heritage globally, we look forward to have Mr. Goh as an important and vital member of our team.
