Forecast 2023: Finding the Balance Between Recovery and Responsibility

 

As the industry looks ahead to 2023, most will be anticipating that the rapidly approaching new year will bring with it full recovery. However, there are already some economic headwinds threatening and the question that many are asking is whether these factors will present significant obstacles to the industry’s recovery. 


For its 2023 Forecast, Canadian Travel Press reached out to senior executives in a number of sectors and asked them their views on how the industry’s recovery will progress in the coming year, but also to offer some insights on whether Canada’s travel and tourism industry can balance the urgent need for economic recovery with the just as urgent need to act on climate change. 

“Next year we’ll have a clearer picture of the evolving ‘new normal’ and therefore what that might mean for business travel, travel policies and travellers. With continued recovery, the return of talent, and bringing new people into our industry, there’s also an opportunity to reimagine and recreate a better way forward for the future of our industry and its professionals,” said GBTA CEO Suzanne Neufang.
