Silversea Officially Adds Crystal Endeavor To Fleet, Will Protect Deposits Of Those Who Booked With Crystal

Last month, there was chatter that luxury line Silversea Cruises had purchased Crystal Endeavor, the newest ship from Crystal Cruises which had gone bankrupt.

Today, Silversea has confirmed the acquisition, officially welcoming the renamed vessel, Silver Endeavour, to the fleet. It is now the fifth expedition ship in Silversea’s total fleet of 11.

Silver Endeavour is scheduled to enter service this November, replacing Silver Explorer for the 2022-2023 Antarctica season.

“The expedition cruising industry is poised to resume accelerated growth, driven by demand among high-end, affluent customers for travel to remote and hard-to-access destinations,” said Roberto Martinoli, President and CEO, Silversea Cruises. “Silver Endeavour will strengthen our polar offering, further diversifying our broad-ranging product.”

Built to PC6 polar class specifications, Silver Endeavour has been designed for polar voyages. She carries a fleet of Zodiac boats, kayaks, and cutting-edge navigation and exploration technology, including a remote gimbal camera system that can capture high-quality images from 5 kilometers away.

The all-suite vessel offers the most spacious accommodations in expedition cruising; multiple restaurants, bars, and lounges; an expansive spa; a two-story solarium with a pool and hot tub; and a variety of indoor and outdoor observation areas.

As part of the ongoing RCL Cares program, Royal Caribbean Group will protect the deposits of guests who were originally booked on Crystal Endeavor, and make a new booking on one of the company’s brands: Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea Cruises.

To the extent that Crystal Endeavor guests don’t receive their deposits back from Crystal Cruises or other sources, Royal Caribbean Group will refund any amount paid on a new booking up to the amount of their lost deposits from Crystal.

The vessel’s former crew will be carried over to Silversea as well, where they will receive priority.

Bookings for Silver Endeavour are now open. Guests can book their cruise on Endeavour for the upcoming Antarctica season under Silver Explorer on the website. Silversea will be updating its website to reflect the change of ship in the coming weeks
