Skyguide commits to the new Federal “Exemplary Energy and Climate” initiative

 

At the launch event of today, 19 October 2021, Skyguide, the DETEC and DDPS together with 12 other actors of the Federal initiative “Exemplary Energy and Climate” declared their intention to further increase energy efficiency and expand renewable energies by 2030.

"With this signature, we are happy to renew our commitment to actively contribute to the implementation of the Energy Strategy 2050 and the achievement of the net-zero climate goal until 2050", says Alex Bristol, CEO of Skyguide.

During the first phase of the initiative from 2013 to 2020, Skyguide successfully implemented best practices and significantly improved its energy efficiency. For the second phase spanning from 2021 to 2030 new ambitious goals and improvement, measures have been set. Those specific to Skyguide are fully aligned with the commitment made by the European aviation industry to decarbonize aviation by 2050.
