The COVID-19 pandemic has had a severe impact on airlines and the aviation industry as a whole. The recovery has been slower than first expected and, while many are eager to start traveling again, the question continues to be asked is it safe to get back on an airplane? Boeing in response has launched the Confident Travel Initiative and is working across the industry with airlines, health organizations, regulators, industry associations, and other manufacturers to address these concerns and reassure travelers it is safe to fly. Boeing and our industry partners are doing this by putting in place multiple layers of protection. We are providing guidance to our airlines about enhanced cleaning and disinfecting products and process to keep viruses off the airplane, we are investing in new technology to kill any viruses that might be present and conducting complex analysis, modeling, and testing of how to reduce to an absolute minimum any risk of onboard transmission. Boeing will share some of the latest developments and results from this work and answer any questions or concerns members may have.
