American Queen Steamboat Company (AQSC) and Victory Cruise Lines recently declared the decision of extending its temporary suspension. All operations across its fleet would now remain suspended through mid-May.

AQSC is expecting to return to service approximately by May 16th 2020. Whereas, Victory Cruise Lines might restart operations a day later. The decision to extend the suspension arrived in light of the rapidly evolving nature of the coronavirus pandemic. Governmental restrictions across ports, cities and public institutions remained constant as the virus continued to rise across the globe.

John Waggoner, Founder, and CEO, American Queen Steamboat Company said in a press statement that the company is vigilantly monitoring the situation during the unprecedented time of the COVID-19 spread. He said that the company is putting policies and procedures in place with guidance from health agencies. He also mentions that AQSC’s desire to deliver extraordinary experiences to guests remains the same. He also asked people to stay positive and to believe that the company will emerge as stronger, more determined and more successful in days to come.

AQSC is contacting all guests and travel agents for the 20 sailings that have impacted between April 11th 2020 and May 16th 2020. The company is on talks about their upcoming cruises and available options. The company will be providing a future cruise credit for 125% of the cruise fare for guests who have bookings during the current time and has been impacted by the action.

All guests that are booked on Victory sailings set to depart between April 24th 2020 and May 16th 2020, no necessary action would be undertaken at this time. The Victory customer service team will reach out directly to those guests to answer any questions and advise on their available options in the near future. For booked guests with canceled cruises, a future cruise credit for 125% of the cruise fare will be provided.
