Singapore Airlines will be expanding its operation in India bringing newer and larger aircraft that will serve the Indian population.

More consumers from India are travelling overseas as the emerging economies in India continue to develop.

These markets are increasingly attractive to airlines and Singapore Airlines extends its relationship with India. It started flying to the nation 50 years ago.

The second most important market in Asia is India after the world’s most populous nation China. Silk Air is Singapore Airlines regional subsidiary and its budget airline Scoot is already serving 13 cities across the country.

According to David Lim, general manager of Singapore Airlines the airlines has achieved “double-digit growth” in India over the last three years. This level of growth has emboldened the popular carrier to further expand its services to India.

A variety of different aircraft and services to the country was introduced in recent years. In July 2017 the airline debuted the Airbus A350 long haul aircraft in Mumbai, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft began flying from Delhi.

The A350 started flying into Bengaluru and Kolkata and the airlines intends to use its largest aircraft, the Airbus A380 out of Mumbai in the days to come.
