
Valencia reported a strong tourism growth during the first four months of the year and as per the data published by the INE ( National Institute of Statistics –Spain) there was a surge in the number of overnight stays and visitors.
There was a positive change in the profitability indicators for tourism, RevPAR, hotel occupancy and average price.
Due to the targeted promotion campaigns the city reflects a more authentic and distinctive identity and history based upon product-related programmes.
The overnight stays rose by 4.1 percent from January to April and reached 1,514,643. The total number of overnight stays had 37 per cent domestic and 63 per cent international visitors.
Valencia’s major markets saw growth and the UK showed a total of 5.2 percent increase.
The travellers numbers grew by 3.3 percent to 653,673 and there was 9.8 percent growth in the total number of international tarvellers.
AENS (Spain’s Airport Operator) revealed that until May the number of passengers at València Airport grew at a rate of 12.3 percent.
There was an increased in the seats for airlines showing a good summer season driven by international visitors.
There are 6.5 million seats for the summer months and the United Kingdom had the biggest increase as for the number of seats having an impressive 23.9 percent growth.
A total of 114 direct routes are connected through the airport with 14 new summer connections from all main markets.
