During early 2019, Jamaica saw an increase in British tarvellers by 6% from January to April as compared to the same period last year.

There is a surge in British travellers to Jamaica and due to new hotel openings, refurbishments and a focus on promoting the destination’s cultural experiences beyond the beach, have all contributed to this increase in UK visitor interest in the destination.

So far, the Jamaica Tourist Board UK is known to invest heavily in its tour operator and travel agent partners as a focus for growth through broadening awareness of what the island has to offer.

At the Jamaica sponsored Windsor races in July, jerk masterclasses and at the Linfield races Caribbean day as well as more regional events across the UK the organisation will be hosting these valued agent partners.

Through the online portal agent will be able to access training sessions or face-to-face with key partners and at the popular with Jamaica Travel Mart  which is a business-to-business tradeshow to be held in September.

Elizabeth Fox, regional director UK & northern Europe, Jamaica Tourist Board, said that they have had a great start to the year as they continue to build relationships with their industry partners.

Jamaica will remain front of mind as they will keep updating their travel agent partners on the latest tourism developments as well as delivering training events all around the country over the coming months.

There has been a continuous investment in these valued partnerships and it is rewarding to see the results of their marketing activity as more Brits are choosing Jamaica for their sunshine getaway.
