1Checkin is a tool for people that live out of a suitcase. But, it is also useful for people who travel occasionally, as well as for families and groups of people travelling together and who want to be seated together on the plane.
The app checks users in automatically as soon as online check-in at the respective airline opens. Seat preferences can be set in advance in form of a seat assignment strategy the user can create. Hence, given the early check-in (As soon as it opens), it increases the chances of getting one's preferred seat.
As soon as a user's flight is booked, he or she can forward their booking confirmation to flights@1check-in, the flight and passenger data will be extracted automatically, and displayed as upcoming flight. Users will be able to see date and time of when their check-in is scheduled.
When the user uses the app for the first time, based on the information of the booing forwarded, a passenger profile is created, which the user can complete with relevant travel information such as e.g Passport information or Frequent Flyer Program numbers.
In case the booking contains several passengers, for each of them a passenger card is created, and all passengers on the same booking get checked-in together, and seated together, if seats are available.
The first couple of check-ins are free, afterwards the user can purchase more check-ins, however, for a minor fraction of the price a travel agency would usually charge for the check-in service (Travel agencies and OTAs offering this kind of service charge around 4-7$ per booking). Alternatively users can subscribe to 1Checkin premium, which grants unlimited check-ins and several more value adding and life easing features. A convenient service for the price of a rather small snack at the airport.

Many people purchase e.g. a window seat in advance, in order not to get stuck in the middle seat. 1Checkin almost guarantees a window seat (or aisle, depending on passenger preferences and seat strategies set), subject to availability of seats in the plane. The user's seat strategy will be applied automatically upon check-in, or alternatively, users can request the current seat map of their flight, and choose their preferred seat manually.
Premium subscribers to the service enjoy unlimited check-ins and can request the seat map and purchase seats for their upcoming flights conveniently without having to leave the app. The same works for luggage, where users can request information about their luggage allowance and upgrade their fare.
The team is currently evaluating on several more features to be included in the app's service offering, as well as in contact with different industry leading service providers, in order to collaborate on what is expected to become the most useful end consumer application for air passengers.
