John Bolton, White House national security adviser announced on Wednesday in Miami that there will be further restriction on the rights of the U.S. citizens on Cuba travel by the Trump’s administration.

As a part of the multifaceted effort by the Trump administration on non-family travel to Cuba there will be new restrictions issued by the U.S. Treasury Department intended to clamp down the Cuban regime.

However, on the U.S. Treasury Department website sparse details were there and no guidelines concerning the policy changes.

Designed to pressurize the Cuban government, the new restrictions on the America’s travel to Cuba were a part of the series of measures. This included limits on remittance that Cuban-Americans can send to the families in Cuba , further it loosened restrictions on lawsuits designed to recover damages for properties confiscated on the island.

James Williams, president of the Washington-based Engage Cuba coalition, a non-profit lobbying group said that the U.S. travel and remittances are the lifeblood of the private-sector entrepreneurs in Cuba.

The restriction are a cruel betrayal and a threat on the prospects for a growing independent private sector in Cuba. The people in Cuba are already struggling with difficulties and these actions make it worse.

A policy that would empower the Cubans is required that advances the American interest and not to continue a 60-year failed policy.

The Obama administration had opened up American travel to Cuba which the Trump administration has reversed.

People-to-people visits to Cuba was made easier for the Americans in march 2016 by the U.S. government but the Trump administration reversed the policy in June 2017.  It stipulated that the Americans could only visit the island which had been subject to a decades-long U.S. blockade, as part of organized tours.

The Trump administration barred Americans after several months from staying at certain hotels on the island having ties to the Cuban government.

According to Bolton the new Treasury Department restrictions on non-family travel to Cuba and other series of measures will restrict the American money from supporting the Cuban military and security services.
