Commercial UAV Expo Europe celebrates 72% visitor increase
The third annual Commercial UAV Expo Europe, an international trade fair and conference focused on commercial drone integration and operation for large enterprise end-users and asset owners, was a tremendous success, according to event organisers and key stakeholders in the commercial UAS ecosystem.
The event took place on 8-10 April 2019 at the RAI Amsterdam. Attendance was 1,179, an increase of 72 per cent over the 2018 event. In the exhibition, more than 50 organisations showcased their drones, systems and services.
The event was very international, with 65 countries represented between attendees and exhibitors. More than 100 publications, portals, analysts, associations, user groups and cooperating events supported the event.
“We had an excellent response to this year’s Commercial UAV Expo Europe,” said Lisa Murray, Group Director at Diversified Communications, the event organiser. “Attendees were thrilled by the opportunities to network, increase their knowledge, and compare and qualify best-in-class UAS. For their part, exhibitors noted the steep increase in attendance over the last edition as well as the quality and knowledge level of the delegates.”
Organisers announced that next year’s Commercial UAV Expo Europe will take place 1-3 December, 2020 as part of Amsterdam Drone Week, an event that brings the entire drone ecosystem, including the EASA High Level Conference, Mobility as a Service, Conferences on Drones in Public Domain, and many more events together for networking, education and to propel the unmanned aircraft industry ahead.
Murray made the announcement together with Paul Riemens, CEO/chairman of the executive board at RAI Amsterdam, organiser of Amsterdam Drone Week. “Rather than being competitive, this is a complementary partnership,” said Murray. “Amsterdam Drone Week is very focused on urban air mobility, air taxis and u-space while Commercial UAV Expo is more focused on commercial applications for sUAS, so it’s really bringing the whole drone ecosystem together.”
“We see a lot of synergies between the two companies and these two events and a lot of potential to grow this event into something that’s going to play a role at a global level,” said Riemens.
