Travel can greatly influence how you live your life on a day-to-day basis but does the duration and destination matter? To see which types of trips have the greatest impact on people's perspectives and worldviews, Bayut.com, a UAE-based property portal, asked over 1,770 residents from both the U.S. and U.K. about their perspective of past trips.
Some highlights:
- 44% of travelers who attempted to learn the local language experienced a great or complete change in perspective due to their trip, compared to less than 24% of those who made no attempts to do so
- Travelers who visited 9 or more countries and traveled for over 8 weeks experienced a greater change in perspective
- Around 35% of international travelers felt they were more able to strongly identify with people from all over the world, compared to 24% of those who hadn't traveled abroad.
