The Ryanair cabin crew strike on Friday has impacted more than 30,000 passengers across Europe .Around 150 flights scheduled on Friday will be cancelled due to cabin crew strikes.

Verdi, a union representing around 1,000 German cabin crews will participate in potential walkouts in Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and Belgium over pay and conditions.

There will be rallies in Berlin and Frankfurt on Friday. The airlines said that about eight percent of its 24,000 daily flights will be hampered due to the 24-hour walkouts.

The decision to continue with the walkout on Friday will be confirmed by Thursday evening after the German Union’s discussions.

Verdi took to twitter and mentioned that the previous offers of Ryanair was not enough and Verdi will be calling for rallies in Berlin-Schönefeld and Frankfurt on Friday.

Around 30,000 passengers will be affected by the strike while Ryanair called the strike as unnecessary pointing to the significant progress in recent weeks with the union negotiations in Ireland , Italy and Germany.

All affected customers were provided with three days notice of cancellations.

Kenny Jacobs, Ryanair’s chief marketing officer apologized for the strikes on behalf of the airlines. He said that they tried to avoid by offering these unions recognition agreements, Collective Labour Agreements, and a move to local contracts/law in 2019.

He further said that these unions will work together and collectively work to finalize the agreements for the benefit of pilots and cabin crew without causing any problems to the customers or the flights.

There has been a conflict between staff at Ryanair with the company concering the practice of hiring under the Irish labor laws.
