Hotel management companies are adding to their portfolios. Here’s a look at some of the latest moves:
MCR Takes Over Management of the Miami International Airport Hotel
MCR is now managing the 259-room Miami International Airport Hotel. Located pre-security at the departures level of Concourse E, it is the only hotel at Miami International Airport, which serves more than 44 million passengers annually.
“The Miami International Airport Hotel is the best located hotel at MIA, in the center of America’s premier gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean,” said Tyler Morse, CEO and managing partner of MCR. “We are excited to work with the Miami-Dade Aviation Department to deliver excellent guest service and promote this key amenity for travelers and the airport community.”
MCR landed the management contract through a competitive RFQ process with the Miami-Dade Aviation Department.
PM Hotel Group Adds Three Hotels
PM Hotel Group has added added three new hotels to its existing portfolio. With the addition of the Hilton Melbourne Rialto Place in January, PM Hotel Group’s management footprint has expanded to Florida.
The company also recently added the DoubleTree by Hilton in Wilmington, DE, and Philadelphia’s Sheraton Society Hill, which will soon undergo a $25 million renovation.
Charlestowne Hotels Welcomes Autumn Inn
Charlestowne Hotels has welcomed the Autumn Inn in Northampton, MA, as the newest addition to the company’s expanding portfolio. Located close to downtown Northampton and Smith College, this new agreement further demonstrates Charlestowne’s cultivated reputation for driving impact among independent hotel properties in university markets, according to the company.
Given the inn’s proximity to Smith College, UMASS Amherst, Amherst College, Hampshire College, and Mount Holyoke college within a 10-mile radius, Charlestowne will work to forge and optimize business relationships with each institution and their affiliate organizations. “A property doesn’t need to be a thematic, traditional ‘university hotel’ to capitalize on the demand generated by nearby academic institutions,” said Michael Tall, president and COO of Charlestowne Hotels. “We’ve developed a proven method for utilizing the cyclical university season, while identifying alternative revenue sources for our properties in these markets.”
Plans for a $1.5-million renovation include both interior and exterior elements, including new landscaping, an exterior refresh, upgraded guestrooms and bathrooms, and redesigned common areas. All planned design work will be aimed at enhancing and refining the inn’s original structure and intent—to be a true and inviting New England Colonial-style inn.
Designed in New England Colonial style, The Autumn Inn comprises 32 individually appointed guestrooms featuring both interior and exterior access. An outdoor pool is open seasonally.
