A total of 60,525 Dutch visitors were welcomed in the first four months of 2018, in 2017 during the same period 55,466 Dutch visitors were counted showing an increase of 9%.
The year on year growth from the United States of America was recorded at 10% coming to a total of 23,326 US visitors from January through April 2018.
The stay over arrival last year was 21,209 with Canada performing well with a record 3% visitors counting for a total of 11,748 stayover arrivals during the first four months of 2018.
A total of 142,733 stayover visitors in the first four months of the year 2018 was welcomed by Curacao. It showed a slight decrease of 1% during the same period in 2017.
A growth of 5% was registered while taking tourism count from the Venezula out of the total stayover arrivals.
A total of 6,600 more stayover arrivals was noted and the year to date stayover arrivals also showed a strong growth out of the focus markets.
In the first four months of 2018 a direct impact of $ 213.6 million US dollars is generated for the local economy while 47% of the total direct impact was generated from the European visitors bringing $ 100.8 million US dollars.
The rest of the region like North America garnered $ 58.8 million, South America generated $ 30.4 million and Caribbean brought $ 23.6 million.
