The Berlin Grande Hotel opens to the guest to boost Holmes County tourism.

It comes with 102 luxurious rooms with an indoor swimming pool and hot tub, a recently expanded dining area and top-notch customer service.

When it comes to providing for its customers, the Berlin Grande is second to none.

That explains the abundance of repeat business at the Berlin Grande, people who return year after year to visit their favorite Holmes County establishments. The economy has a lot to do with the hotel industry. And Holmes County is a popular destination, drawing more than four million visitors annually.

Burgess says being in the hotel industry enables him to meet all sorts of wonderful people, and it makes you universally employable. Berlin Grande is owned by Rod and Becky Starr and is managed by Riley Management Co., out of Medina.

The Starrs have formed S&K Hospitality with Larry and Rita Keim to develop the Holiday Inn Express being built on South Washington Street in Millersburg between the Subway and Goodwill stores, across the street from Millersburg Electric. The Holiday Inn Express will have 72 rooms with an indoor pool, but no hot tub.  Burgess says with all the visitors to Holmes County, the Holiday Inn Express will be a nice addition and help them out when the Berlin Grande is booked full.
