National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO) August 2017^(P) I-94 arrivals data can be viewed at: http://travel.trade.gov/view/m-2017-I-001/index.asp. August2017^(P) arrivals data are preliminary with these data subject to revisions.

NTTO's monthly visitation data are available based on a rolling delivery schedule beginning with regional and top 20 country data released first. Monthly arrivals data are scheduled to become available approximately five months after the end of the reported month

interCaribbean accelerates introduction of Sint Maarten Services

interCaribbean Airways celebrating its 26th year of continuous services, is accelerating its start date of services from Sint Maarten to Tortola with onward connections to Santo Domingo, San Juan and Antigua. The original start of service to and from Sint Maarten of March 22, is moved forward in response to the challenges of travel to and from Santo Domingo following recent air service interruptions. The new services will begin immediately from February 9, 2018. Travelers in Santo Domingo and Sint Maarten can make immediate connections via the Tortola hub with a very short layover en-route.

Norwegian Breakaway to Head to Port Canaveral

Norwegian Cruise Line has revealed selections of their fall/winter 2019/2020 schedule, which will feature a great variety of cruises in the Caribbean, Bahamas, South America, and Canada/New England. Most of the line’s newest and largest vessels will be calling a new city home in 2019. Norwegian’s new itineraries will open for sale tomorrow, January 17 for returning guests and Thursday, January 18 for the general public.

Riga Airport closes January with 20% increase in passenger figures The operational performance data show that Riga International Airport has finished the first month of 2018 with a passenger increase of one fifth, while the cargo volumes have grown by almost 90% as compared to January last year. In January 2018, Riga Airport handled 443 524 passengers, which is 20% more than in last January. In turn, the volume of cargo increased by 87.3% as compared to January 2017, reaching 2464 tons. In January 2018, the number of flights handled at Riga Airport went up by 18%, servicing a total of 6037 aircraft. The offer of airlines operating at Riga Airport for the summer season of 2018 allows forecasting a further increase in the passenger numbers. According to Lice, airlines have already announced opening of 13 new destinations from Riga Airport this summer, and the total number of destinations will thus reach 96. AUSSIE FIRST: Pop-up check-in service launched by Virgin Australia The airline is piloting a pop-up check-in and baggage drop service that will give passengers the freedom to conduct their seat and baggage check-in away from the airport at locations such as cruise ports, conference venues and hotels.
