Recently Mexico has introduced a brand new Frequent Traveler Program for Pets known as Programa Mascota Viajero Frecuente.
Once a pet of any traveller is registered, he would be granted the registration of Income, that is an official form issues by SENASICA. It contains the applicant’s generate data and those of the pet as well as vaccination record and dewormimg.
Furthermore it also certifies the state of the pet’s health every time they enter the country.
In order to register with the program, the application should be filled out and the pet’s health certificate should be attached with all the requisite documents like current anti-rabies vaccination records and proof of treatment against ecto- and endoparasites (less than six months).
Successful registration is valid for six months as long as all vaccination and deworming records are up to date and their pet is deemed healthy.
Being part of Programa Mascota Viajero Frecuente offers the following advantages:
- For six months, they would no longer need to present health certificates since the staff would be doing the physical inspection on their admission to verify rabies vaccination and treatment of ectoparasites and endoparasites
- Minimized waiting time upon entry into the nation as the SENASICA staff would be verifying the applicant’s status
- It would not be necessary to register any new data into the computer systems of SENASICA as this information is already existent in their system
- Applicant would not have to wait till the Import Certificate is prepared since it would be sent electronically to his e-mail
The “Registration of Income” is granted only in the Agricultural Health Inspection Offices (OISA) of AICM T1, AICM T2, Cancun, Guadalajara, Querétaro, Zihuatanejo, Toluca and Mazatlan and in SENASICA’s central offices. The program is free of charge.
