Palazzo Volpi is a luxurious and contemporary take on traditional Venetian accommodation comprising three private, spacious and elegant apartment Suites which officially launched on 1st January 2018.
Situated in the heart of Campo Santi Giovanni and dating back to the 16th Century, Palazzo Volpi was originally apart of Palazzo Grimani. It then became the Embassy of the Brescia in the 16th and 17th century and more recently the Consulate of Argentine was living here, between 18th and 19th Century.
The original property can even be seen in both Canaletto’s ‘Campo santi Giovanni e Paolo a Venezia col monumento a Bartolomeo Colleoni’ and Francesco Guardi’s ‘Campo Santi Giovanni e Paolo’. When owners Anna & Fred bought the property it was in a state of disrepair as it had been untouched for 70 years, just a sole priest has been living in the building.

The Design
The design style of Palazzo Volpi is best described as Modern Classic using a mix of Italian materials coupled with French inspired interior design. Reflecting both Anna’s Venetian upbringing and Fred’s French Savoir Faire. Palazzo Volpi has retained many of the properties original details including the beams, windows, all the external façade and stairs and every detail has been thought out, with the design ethos running continuously and seamlessly throughout.
Upon entering the apartments one of the most striking features is the floor of the hallway, kitchen and living areas has been made using Nero Marquina and Venetian White marbles with a bespoke design which has been inspired by the Zattere promenade in Venice, complementing parquet flooring was made using brushed Oak from Slovenia.
The calm and elegant living rooms feature stunning marble fireplaces, which are central to the room with traditional and original floor to ceiling windows, either side. The Sofa and chairs have been custom made by Maxalto, chairs using silk velvet and sofas in cotton linen. All lighting has also been designed by Anna & Fred, then made by local artisans in Venice. The living room tables are made from African Black Limba, an Arabescato Chiaro marble top and wrought iron stands, inspired by Palazzo Volpi’s staircase.
The Mirrors have been made using Mirastar by Saint Gobain, France’s finest glass maker then framed by sanded oak. The parallel mirrors are attractive and functional as there are no side windows, so the mirrors help make the light enter the room. Mirrors in the bedrooms and above the fireplace also cleverly disguise Televisions. Bespoke Silk rugs were sourced from weavers in India and all of the curtains have been made using neutral fabrics from Venetian brand Rubelli.
One of the chic bedrooms brought to life by owners and husband-and-wife interior design duo Anna Crove and Fredrick Tubau.
The spacious double bedrooms feature elegant four-poster beds have been made using sanded oak and the bedside tables are made of Laquered black Limba and wrought iron with painted and sanded pine lamps.
