Northern Norway, perfectly placed within the Aurora Zone, is a magical world were the sun doesn’t rise during the months of the polar nights and where the chances of experiencing the mystical northern lights are some of the greatest in the world.

#VisitNordlys
Nordlys (Norwegian for northern lights) is a destination like no other, a magical place where husky drawn sleds transport you from one exciting encounter to the next; from urban city adventures to remote communities of Sami people, from historic fishing villages to wild Orca safaris, all whilst the mystical aurora illuminates the stunning wintry landscapes and dances across the sky.

To capture this magical world, three British influencers; George Turner (@georgetheexplorer); Joshua Adam Guyan (@wildlifejosh); and Joseph Anthony Mattos-Hall (@joe_shatter) have been handpicked to travel to northern Norway to share their experiences in Visit Norway’s new Social Media Campaign #VisitNordlys.

“Visiting Northern Norway in the wintertime is an absolute dream. Pastel coloured skies, glittering moonlight, powdery snow and of course, the aurora dancing above. Then, the wildlife. Oh the wildlife. White-tailed eagles soaring in the skies, orcas feasting in the ocean, reindeer scurrying across the landscape. Northern Norway proves that fairytales are real.” George Turner (@georgetheexplorer)

Northern Norway – The best place to experience the Northern Lights
Northern Norway is located within The Aurora Zone which stretches from the Lofoten Islands to the North Cape, the northernmost point of mainland Europe. Thanks to the Gulf Stream the coastal areas of Norway have a milder climate than other locations at the same latitude within the Aurora Zone, making Norway the ideal choice for travelers wishing the experience the magical Aurora.

SAS offers daily departures to Tromsø in northern Norway, via Oslo, from all major European cities, including London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Aberdeen in the UK, with prices starting from £68 return.
