Charleston is well on its way to receive a newer and larger cruise vessel through Carnival Cruise Line.
The Carnival Sunshine ship can carry 3,0002 passengers.
It would be kicking off a year-round schedule of four and five-day cruises in May 2019. Christine Duffy who is the president of Carnival Cruise Line said that with its very convenient strategic location as well as a strong tourism potential, Charleston is among their popular homeports and they are delighted to leverage this success with the deployment of Carnival Sunshine.
She then went on to add that Carnival Sunshine not only offers guests sailing from Charleston with a newer, larger ship with a lot to see and also underscores their commitment to their year-round operations from this port.
Carnival Sunshine would kick start its four-and-five-day cruise program from Charleston from 18th May, 2019 and is expected to carry nearly 220,000 passengers annually from that port.
Four-day cruises would be visiting the Bahamian capital of Nassau while the five-day cruises would go to Nassau and also the private Bahamian island off Half Moon Cay.
