Recently American Airlines have decided to help travellers fit in extra large overhead cabins that can accommodate about 40% more space.
The Airspace XL bins of Airbus would be able to accommodate bigger bags as long as they are stored on their side. The world’s largest carrier American Airlines is currently building the new storage into their planes.
These cabins currently would be able to fit up to eight bags.
Therefore the storage space is considerably larger than the hand baggage options of Ryanair. The Irish airline has greater problems with fitting hand luggage of everyone into their planes appropriately and so they too are following suit and are ready to impose stricter rules from next month onwards.
The passenger numbers have touched 97% capacity in August, as specified by the budget airline that went on to add that its overhead cabin space is turning out to be very crowded with carry-on bags.
It said that this is the reason that has prompted it to restrict passengers to just a single small piece of hand baggage.
