Hello all readers! It’s time to keep all work aside. Put every task on hold temporarily and give your hundred percent attention on knowing about ‘Valley Weekend,’ a freshly launched campaign by J&K Tourism department.
Recently, the Tourism Department of Jammu and Kashmir launched a new effort to assist the visitors in providing the pleasure of holidaying in the beautiful valley like never again! It also aspires to improve Kashmir tourism.
The campaign will present the visitors with plenty of opportunities to get connected with sports and entertainment throughout the winter season.
In sports category, there will be marathons, cycling, skiing, fishing, and snow-shoe running. The tourism department on other hand is all set to organise folk and rock music concerts, poetry shows and theatre to amuse the discerning tourists. Besides, the officials recently have added the component of heritage and food carts in winter events to attract and retain the visitors.
According to a recent report of a Kashmir-based news website, the campaign is listed to begin in the coming week.
“We just want to add colour to the winter tourism this year. Already we hold sports event like skiing but this time some addition has been done to it,” said Mahmood Ahmad Shah, Director of Tourism.
He also said, “we don’t want to give an impression that city is dead during winter. That’s why cultural programs will be held here. The winter is ideal time for such activities, and it will bring more people to Kashmir.”
