NATIONAL REPORT—As the industry evolves, so does the relationship between a hotel and its management company. Here’s a look at recent management deals:
Hilton, Transcorp Hotels Sign Extension for Transcorp Hilton 
Hilton and Transcorp Hotels Plc , a subsidiary of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc, have signed a 20-year extension to the current agreement to manage the Transcorp Hilton hotel in Abuja, Nigeria. The agreement will see Hilton manage the property until 2037. The 667-room hotel is currently undergoing a multimillion-dollar renovation.
Hotel Equities to Manage Two Marriott Hotels in NJ
Atlanta-based Hotel Equities has been selected to manage two Marriott hotels in New Jersey: the Courtyard by Marriott in North Brunswick and the SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Woodbridge. Owned by Main Street Hote LLC, the 124-room Courtyard North Brunswick is under construction less than 30 miles from Newark, NJ and Newark International Airport. Courtyard by Marriott in North Brunswick is slated to open in early 2018. The SpringHill Suites by Marriott Woodbridge is scheduled to break ground in early 2018.
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts to Manage Ocean Club on Paradise Island in the Bahamas
Access Industries has appointed Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts to manage the Ocean Club on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Upon this change in management, which will occur on Nov. 30, the property will be known as The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, Bahamas. The property has five restaurants and bars, including Dune, by Michelin-starred Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten; and leisure facilities encompassing a spa, three pools, six tennis courts, and access to the adjacent Tom Weiskopf-designed Ocean Club golf course. Several indoor and outdoor event spaces for up to 250 guests are also on-property.
Auberge Resorts Collection to Manage Mukul
Auberge Resorts Collection has been selected to manage Mukul, a luxury resort in Nicaragua. The resort has 37 accommodations, including 12 beach villas, private one- and two-bedroom suites with indoor-outdoor space, ocean views, private swimming pools and gardens, wrap-around decks and outdoor showers. Interiors feature custom-designed furnishings showcasing Nicaraguan craftsmanship, floor-to-ceiling windows and bathroom suites, each highlighted by a “Liquid Temple” wet room with freestanding soaking tub and monsoon shower.
