Moreover, the construction work for other hotel projects in nearing completion. November 2017 will see the openings of Robinson Club Khao Lak in Thailand and Robinson Club Noonu in the newly developed Maldives island of Orivaru. “With our new Robinson Club in Cape Verde, we will expand TUI’s portfolio of own hotel brands in a trending holiday destination. We thus offer the guests of our premium club brand an even wider choice of winter destinations. At the same time, the consistently warm weather facilitates profitable operation of the resort throughout the year,” said Sebastian Ebel, member of TUI Group’s Executive Board in charge of Hotels & Resorts.
By expanding its portfolio in the Atlantic Ocean, TUI Group has responded to the increase in demand to Cape Verde. Last year, the world’s number one tourism group recorded double-digit growth in booking numbers. TUI Group’s portfolio currently includes four RIU hotels in the Cape Verde Islands. The brand also operates the concept hotel TUI Sensimar Cabo Verde Resort & Spa in the archipelago.
With the expansion of its hotel portfolio, TUI Group is driving its transformation as an integrated tourism group focusing on its hotel and cruise business further ahead. The two segments now contribute half of TUI’s operating result.
