In the coming years with boom in Islamic tourism, young Muslims across the world are expected to double their spending on travelling garnering around $300 billion.

The surge has been noted due to the recent growth in airports, restaurants and hotels catering to the needs of Muslims an offering them basic facilities such as prayer rooms and halal food facilities.

A study carried out with Mastercard by Fazal Bahardeen, the chief executive of Islamic travel specialist HalalTrip that older Muslims along with families travel only once  a year, while those between the age of 20 to 36 take multiple trips.

The young generation of Muslims have disposable income and are looking for more disposable income and look for more exotic experiences and far flung destination than their older generation.

Their overall expenditure is higher although, their per trip expenditure would be lower than their earlier generation. It is expected that in the coming 10 years, many Muslims will be getting in the habit of earning, spending and traveling the most.

Fazal further added that the spending on travel for the year 2016 for young Muslims was around $55 billion, however the total Muslim travel segment was worth $156 billion.
