Consumers are reminded that post hurricane the Caribbean island still remain unaffected, travel agents were promoting deals, events and fund raising efforts to spread the message that most of the island remain unscathed by the storm and were ready to invite visitors.
 
A consumer-awareness campaign was launched by leading the Travel Leaders travel agency that promoted the Caribbean destination were open for business for fall and winter travel.

 
The agents were now becoming ‘ambassadors’ for the region by providing as much information in condition and packages.

 
Travel Leaders Group CEO Ninan Chacko said that the hurricane season devastated a number of Caribbean islands but there will be more negative impact on the region if visitors avoided travel to unaffected destinations.


Travel Leaders Group has also been raising money for the hurricane victims  and other impacted communities through its Family Bonds Foundation.
 
CaribbeanIsOpen.com is a part of the million-dollar initiative that was funded by the Florids-Caribbean Cruise Association.


Michele Paige the group president said that the intuitive was a major tool to assist the Caribbean by stimulating the economy. The affected destinations worked around the clock to reopen for tourism.
 
Destinations that saw damage from the hurricanes will have cruise visits. AAA travel also launched a ‘Caribbean is Open for Business’ Campaign listing some of the regions as top AAA-recommended destinations for fall and winter getaways.

 
The Secret Bay resort in Dominica had set up a fundraising page to benefit the staff.


Skylark.com, a luxury vacation site had sent out a plea for donations to the official website for the recovery of the U.S Virgin Islands. Skylark added a link on the website suggesting on ideas on where to go.

Antigua promoted a Yacht Charter Show while other public relations agency sent out press release with detailed information about the impact of tourism.
